Fall Update
It has been a bit since my last posting... This is partially due to a loss of a couple of hard drives. I still have hope that I can recover them - I just need to find a place that can help me out. Admittedly my lack of updates is mostly due to fall is a busy time for this family of teachers. Fall is also a favorite time for Kelly and I to get out. You will notice for the first time in a long time Owen is not in all of the shots... In fact he is less than half! I hope this doesn't disappoint the grandparents. Enjoy!

Midwest
The photos are a bit of a combination of catching what we were up to and a several you will notice are a bit different. They are shot with a new lens, thanks Kevin! The new lens is called a lensbaby. Very fun lens to work with that allows a selective focus by using a lens attached to a flexible bellows. Enjoy...

Summer Visitors
Oma and Opa just left after over a week of visiting. We all had a great time enjoying the time off together. The things we did:
Concert in the park at Deer Valley
A long hike on the 8,000' trail (The flowers this year have been the best in memory)
A visit to the Hogle Zoo
A steep hike in Lambs Canyon
A beach visit at Jordanelle Reservoir
A train ride on the Heber Creeper
A dinner at Andre's
And just general hanging out and watching all of the funny things Owen can do now...

ONE

Owen has just completed his first lap around the sun.
While his true b-day was on Thursday, we took the liberty to celebrate it on Saturday. I have posted a few pictures from the day of celebration at: April 2008.
For me, the most fun was giving Owen a haircut. While a bit intimidating at first, there were several backseat cutters present, I was eventually able to get comfortable and I think the end result is quite handsome.

Walking
Anyhow, I did capture a long series (33 frames) of him walking. Take a peak if you are at all interested in a baby walking.

Hmmmmm, what to write?
It has been a bit since I have posted a true typed blog entry so here it is. Hmmmm what should I talk about?
You can probably guess from the photos I have posted that we spent our Christmas break in the Northwest enjoying some skiing and got to hang out with a lot of family. It was great to see everyone, share stories, catch up and enjoy our time with the new little ones.
Since Christmas I have had the pleasure to return to work and had an even greater pleasure watching it snow for almost a week straight. I haven't seen it pile this high, that fast, in quite a while.
On the Owen front, new features include; an increased interest to "walk" with his walker toys or mom or dad's fingers, the ability to wave bye/hello (very very cute), has begun to mimic/repeat some sounds, weighs in just over 18lbs and this past weekend had a collision with the dryer door that lacerated his frenulum (located under his upper lip). This latter episode was more scary than a real problem. It bled like crazy and it took a bit to really assess the severity of the wound. A quick (and I mean quick > 40 min) ER trip assured us that it was indeed no big deal. I hope we can continue to have similar benign medical needs.

PS: I have begun a January 08 photo folder - Enjoy
PSS: Did I mention that Owen now waves bye when I go to work? Very cute.
