La Sage - Cabane de Moiry

What a lovely day! The day started out clear and stayed clear all day. So amazing to see peak to valley.

On the way up from La Sage we had a lovely series if views of Petite/Grande Dent de Veisivi. Look for the same dual peaked mountain in these pics:

We reached Col du Tsaté for lunch and chocolate:

We came up the right side if this pic. Now it is time to go down the left into Val de Moiry:

Val de Moiry is a huge glacier tolled moraine field with crazy robin egg blue reservoirs and creeks.

We reached the valley floor only to climb up the other side to reach our destination, Cabane de Moiry. Some hold out snow still remains:

Even a fixed line for the push to the hut.

Bier awaits the finishers:

Old meets new. Locals say the addition was funded by a wealthy German. The dinning hall was impressive. Floor to ceiling windows overlook the Moiry glacier.

Our backpackers fondue for dinner:

Dinner view of the glacier:

Sunset evolution:

The pictures here don't show just how many people were staying at Cabane de Moiry. It was packed. We were in room 15 beds 9 & 10. The way the bunks were arranged Kelly and I had a top bunk with no direct neighbors. Not bad for a dorm/bunk sleeping situation.
