It's GO time!

We are all excited about what is coming up next. Tomorrow (July 6th) we send Owen and Izzy off on a northwest tour with Oma and Opa and we won't see them again until July 24th! They will be visiting family in California and Washington. We can't say how proud we are of our kids and Oma and Opa. They always have such a good time together. Thanks!!!!

We will be sending ourselves off a bit further in the opposite direction... the walkers Haute Route in France and Switzerland.  This is a hike (covering ~110 miles and gaining ~43,000') that will go from Chamonix (France) to Zermatt (Switzerland). The plan is to hike nearly every day from one village to another or to a high mountain hut. Below is the intended route:

Here is a table I worked up that shows the itinerary and an attempt to rank the difficulty of each day:

A special thanks out Kevin for the packs and stove stand!!!  While it looks like a lot spread out those packs really made us cut back from our normal pack list! Also a thanks out to Oma/Opa and Eden/Bakke for lending us some misc gear.

I have never planned so much for a trip, ever... Now it is time for the fun part.
